ADDRESSING SECURITY CHALLENGES: A STUDY OF GOVERNMENT ROLES
ABSTRACT
In this research, some selected factors that have effects on management of security challenges as well as those disposing conditions have been considered in this research work. The objective of this study is to examine the managerial effect of the government in tackling security challenges in the state as they are critical for the daily running’s of the state and recommend appropriate measure that would help improve the current situation. Relevant data for this research work were collected from both primary and secondary source of data. An exploratory method was used for this study. The population out of which several questionnaires were administered serve as the sample size. The statistical instrument used in testing the validity of the hypotheses included frequency and percentages. Among the major findings of the study was that sources of funding were low and most of the managerial strategies were credible, yet laudable to some extent. Also, the study showed that others such as civil society and traditional rulers played important roles. The research therefore, recommended that a more collaborative approach should be actualized to ensure cross sectional development.
